Intervention Details:
Developing a funding proposal, facilitated a funding application for township based businesses as well as sponsor a 3 months short skills cellphone repair training program through SAMDDRA.
Outcome Details:
Company director successfully got accreditation through SAMDDRA in 2024. The training allowed the business owner to be a certified cell phone repairer. Subsequently, through the training program the company owner was empowered with a start-up kit to the estimated value of R 6 000 and started his own home based cell phone repair service in Alexandra Township.
Further assistance with scaling the business from a home based enterprise to having it’s own operational facility was provided by successfully facilitating funding application for township owned businesses in 2025, a total of R 249 500 was awarded.
