Intervention Details:
When the client first visited SEDFA, the Business Advisor Mr Khauhelo Maruping conducted a detailed business diagnosis to understand the needs and growth potential of the business. Based on the assessment, a number of business development interventions were implemented to strengthen the business.
• Conducted a full business diagnosis to assess operational gaps and development needs.
• Registered the client for business training programmes including Business Management, Financial Management and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Assisted the client to prepare and compile a full funding application with all required supporting documents.
• Submitted the SEDFA Asset Assist funding application on behalf of the client.
• Provided continuous business advisory services and coaching support.
• Conducted an export readiness assessment to prepare the business for international opportunities.
• Registered the business on the SheTrades platform to increase access to global markets.
• Referred the client to the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) where she attended training programmes, completed a pre-funding assessment and participated in a mentorship programme.

• The business received SEDFA Asset Assist funding of R104 000, which was used to purchase industrial clothing production machines and materials.
• The use of high-end machinery improved the quality and efficiency of clothing production.
• The business started attracting more clients through social media marketing platforms.
