The client approached SEDFA Cape Winelands Branch to seek assistance with the
growth of the business, where he was introduced to Mphumzi Mange, one of the
Business Advisors who conducted a diagnostic assessment, the Critical Planning
Exercise (CPE) on the business. The aim of the CPE is to plan and prepare financial
projections for twelve months or more and simulates various “what if” scenarios.
The assessment assisted the business to make accurate, realistic financial predictions
and develop a plan which significantly contribute to the business viability and how
best to improve competitiveness and grow the business.
The following recommendations were implemented:
• Facilitated e-commerce advertising, and
• Facilitated continuous business advice

• Turnover increased from R 19 900 to R 45 680, an increase of 129.55%;
• Profits have increased from R 1 696 to R 5 070, an increase of 198.94%, and
• Employment remained the same as 2 employees (the owners).
