When the client approached SEDFA, Mr Khauhelo Maruping, the assigned Business Advisor, conducted a comprehensive business diagnostic to identify operational gaps, skills deficiencies, and growth opportunities. Based on the assessment outcomes, a structured support plan was implemented to strengthen the business’s capacity, improve market visibility, and enhance overall sustainability.
The following key interventions were provided:
Development of a comprehensive business plan to guide operations, financial management, and growth
Support with business branding and installation of signage to improve visibility and attract more clients
Facilitation of access to the Sedfa Asset Assist Programme for the acquisition of essential equipment, machinery, and tools
Referral to and participation in various business and industry-related training programmes
Enrolment and active participation in the Sedfa mentorship programme to strengthen management and operational skills
These targeted interventions contributed to improved business performance, enhanced service delivery, and positioned the enterprise on a more structured and sustainable growth path.

Outcome Details:
Following the interventions, the business recorded measurable improvements. Turnover increased from R16,450 to R18,500, while net profit rose from R841 to R1,935. Employment also increased from five to six employees. Improved signage and marketing visibility led to increased customer traffic, while access to appropriate equipment enhanced service delivery and profitability. The business is now more stable, better positioned in the market, and operating on a sustainable growth path.
